Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Chief Growth Officer, the Senior Director of Customer Acquisition will spearhead all new customer growth strategies for Advance America. This leader will drive multi-channel marketing efforts across our 800+ branches and rapidly expanding digital business.
We are seeking a high-performance, data-driven, and customer-centric Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) marketer. The ideal candidate balances strategic thinking with a rigorous, hands-on execution style. You must possess a relentless "test-and-learn" mindset to optimize our Cost of Acquisition (CAC) across paid and organic channels. This is an exciting opportunity to directly shape our multi-year growth strategy.
Job Responsibility
Strategic Leadership & Multi-Channel Execution
- Integrated Strategy: Lead the internal acquisition team and external agencies to execute a cohesive marketing strategy across digital channels (SEO/SEM, paid social, display, affiliates, digital video) and offline channels (Direct Mail, TV, radio, OOH).
- Business Value Focus: Drive aggressive new customer growth targets while relentlessly managing marketing spend to optimize CPF (Cost per Funded) per the LTV/CAC guardrails.
- Funnel Optimization: Own the post-click digital experience, including web landing pages and post-underwriting conversion metrics, to maximize conversion rates.
Data, Analytics & Testing
- Data-Driven Insights: Partner with the Marketing Analytics team to maintain robust attribution models, track campaign efficiency, and deliver actionable performance insights.
- Test & Learn: Foster a high-velocity testing environment to research, launch, and scale new acquisition concepts, targeting methodologies, and creative assets.
- Performance Reporting: Analyze, and report on all marketing tactics, translating complex data into clear recommendations for senior management and key stakeholders.
Channel Optimization & Incubation
- Paid Digital: Scale our 7-figure annual spend strategically while being data & insights driven
- Direct Mail: Optimize and scale the company’s direct mail program by reducing production costs, testing creative layouts, and expanding target populations.
- Affiliates & Lead Buying: Drive the incubation, testing, and scaling of lead-buying and affiliate marketing channels to ensure a strictly positive ROI.
- Organic Search: Partner with external vendors to dominate search engine visibility (SEO/GEO/SEM), capturing high-intent demand to build a long-term competitive advantage.
Leadership
- Talent Management: Manage the current team by being a player-coach and raising performance by setting clear goals, managing planning, and ensuring flawless execution.
- Thought leadership: Influence other members of the broader marketing team and key stakeholders to support your vision and agenda
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Operations: Collaborate closely with the Digital & Store Operations teams in designing campaigns that meet business objectives while delivering a seamless- end-to-end customer journey across retail branches and digital products.
- Product & Decision Science: Partner to understand credit profile of target customers and leverage these in targeting strategies
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all marketing campaigns, creative assets, and data-gathering practices strictly comply with financial services regulations and applicable laws.

Education Required
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, or a related field; MBA preferred.
Experience Required
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in performance marketing, growth marketing, or customer acquisition, ideally within D2C financial services, FinTech, or subprime lending. Direct experience with App marketing is preferred but not required.
- Leadership: Proven track record of managing internal marketing teams and holding external media agencies accountable for performance metrics.
- Data Fluency: Deeply analytical mindset with hands-on experience utilizing advanced attribution models, web analytics tools, and financial KPIs (CAC, LTV, ROI).
- Channel Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of both digital media (SEO/SEM, paid social, affiliates) and traditional media (Direct Mail, terrestrial radio/TV).
- Communication: Exceptional presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to influence C-suite executives and cross-functional business partners.
Knowledge Required
Excellent written and verbal communications skills; adaptability and flexibility to changing environment; and comfortable working in a dynamic, high volume, fast-paced environment. Ability to understand and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws governing our industry/business and products.
