Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, this leadership role will drive the strategic direction and growth of Purpose Money's innovative ReadyMoney product, a groundbreaking overdraft solution integrated within our digital banking platform. As the product owner, you will oversee the complete business unit, managing P&L responsibilities while spearheading customer acquisition initiatives and optimizing the mobile product experience. Purpose Financial is revolutionizing financial services for non-prime consumers through smart, accessible banking solutions. ReadyMoney represents our commitment to providing customers with immediate access to funds through an intelligent alternative to traditional overdraft services, seamlessly integrated with our Purpose Money debit card platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies to scale the ReadyMoney product line, driving profitability, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences that align with Purpose Financial's mission of helping customers achieve financial stability.

Job Responsibility

  • Full P&L ownership of ReadyMoney; drive revenue, margin, and customer growth targets.
  • Lead strategy and roadmap for ReadyMoney, ensuring product-market fit, competitive differentiation, and scalable unit economics 
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Risk, Marketing, and Compliance teams to deliver best-in-class advance experience within our mobile app 
  • Define, monitor, and optimize KPIs across customer acquisition, retention, repayment, and lifetime value 
  • Identify and drive key growth levers including pricing strategies, product enhancements, and risk-adjusted underwriting 
  • Oversee customer research, A/B testing, and behavioral analytics to improve product features, flows, and performance 
  • Lead external partnerships with payment/network processors, data providers, and bank partners supporting ReadyMoney 
  • Stay on top of competitor trends, including EarnIn, Dave, and Brigit, to inform product positioning 
  • Foster a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, and rapid learning

Education Required

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

Experience Required

8+ years of experience in fintech or digital consumer financial products, with at least 4+ years in a mobile-first environment.

  • Direct experience managing a cash advance, overdraft alternative, or embedded lending product (Dave, MoneyLion, Brigit, or similar preferred) 
  • Proven success owning P&L for a digital financial product, including customer acquisition and revenue optimization 

Knowledge Required

Excellent written and verbal communications skills; adaptability and flexibility to changing environment; and comfortable working in a dynamic, high volume, fast-paced environment.  Ability to understand and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws governing our industry/business and products.

  • SQL or Tableau for data analysis 
  • Familiarity with Plaid, Argyle, or similar data APIs 
  • Knowledge of ACH rails, card issuing platforms, and embedded finance providers 
  • Experience with mobile app analytics platforms and A/B testing frameworks 
  • Strong grasp of mobile app ecosystems (App Store optimization, push notifications, in-app engagement, etc.) 
  • Familiarity with risk-based decisioning, alternative underwriting, and regulatory frameworks for financial services 
  • Data-driven operator who thrives in high-growth, scrappy environments 
  • Exceptional cross-functional leadership and communication skills 
  • Passionate about building accessible financial tools for underserved customers
