Position Summary

This position reports to Manager of BI Reporting and is responsible for driving insight to the business using various tools such as Tableau, SQL-based query and cloud computing tools, and other tools as required. This person will work closely with various functional teams to develop and translate business requirements into solutions for the business via dashboards and analyses.  This person will also be responsible for creating complex data sets and transformations as required by the business and/or other analytics teams with whom the BI team maintains ongoing partnerships. The Sr BI Analyst will be expected to lead projects independently and develop and implement large scale BI solutions with minimal supervision.  This person is also expected to lead and develop junior members of the team through training and open sharing of knowledge. This person must demonstrate creativity and flexibility in how solutions are designed and delivered.  This position will also support the strategic direction of the data management program, including long-term planning and design. They will be involved in all phases of the systems development life cycle; resolution of issues with existing systems; and providing guidance to other team members. Other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibility

  • Enable and promote the democratization of data and Business Intelligence assets.
  • Work with BSAs and Project managers to gather and translate requirements for BI Solution design, development, and deployment.
  • Work with the team to develop, deploy and maintain effective, scalable and secure BI Solutions to support the business.
  • Work with cross-functional teams create and automate robust and resilient processes
  • Ongoing discovery and improvement initiatives focused on data integrity

  • Work with cross-functional teams in the design, development, testing, documentation and production support of integrated BI solutions

  • Generate weekly and monthly reports with market trends past and present
  • Perform data profiling to identify anomalies

Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree in BI, IS or Finance (Master’s Degree a plus), or equivalent experience.

Experience Required

5+ years of experience on a BI or Analytics team. 5+ years providing BI solutions via SQL or PL/SQL. 5+ years of experience using Tableau or equivalent BI tool. Public cloud experience a plus.

Knowledge Required

Excellent written and verbal communications skills; adaptability and flexibility to changing environment; and comfortable working in a dynamic, high volume, fast-paced environment.  Ability to understand and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws governing our industry/business and products.  Extensive experience delivering BI solutions via BI tools such as Tableau is required. Experience in or familiarity with an Agile Scrum environment is highly desirable. Leadership skills are required.  Ability to develop and foster partnerships with the various business units. Proficiency with SQL-based tools and developing complex queries, transformations, and datasets required. Strong analytic, problem solving, and collaborative skills; experience in business requirements gathering and knowledge of standard system development lifecycle concepts required.  Extensive understanding of business intelligence and data warehousing concepts required.  Advanced knowledge of BI solution evaluation, design, and delivery required. Must be able to interpret and conduct data and business process modeling. Understanding of relational database design, business analytics, dashboard development, business analysis, and data analysis required.  Knowledge of accounting and financial concepts and data structures as they apply to the consumer lending industry is highly desired.  Must be able to work independently with minimal guidance. Must be able to administer training and knowledge sharing to Jr Team members, Field Management and the Executive team.
