Position Summary

This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and, is responsible for performing QA activities into all facets of the project, starting from the design to the deployment. Duties are not limited to executing test cases or identifying bugs but also expects reviewing existing QA procedures, developing new testing tools, implementing best test approaches, raising project related risks, and identifying automation features.  This position is required to work in a fast-paced, and dynamic environment with latest technologies. Must be able to interface efficiently with all support teams, product teams, other QA and development teams in order to get things done independently. Our ideal candidate must exhibit quick learning abilities by mastering new concepts which may be business-, technical-, or process-oriented with self-driven mindset.

Job Responsibility

  • Work closely with Product Owners/Scrum Masters to define the Acceptance criteria and to Estimate efforts during Sprint planning.
  • Collaborate with cross teams (if needed) or scrum team members to complete planned stories.
  • Assist in test planning, analyzing requirements, proposing technical solution, developing test cases/scenarios, and executing test cases.
  • Document the issues identified during execution and get the required visibility to fix them on time.
  • Help troubleshoot, isolate, and document problems encountered during test cycle execution.
  • Document clear and concise defects descriptions and validate defect fixes across multiple environments if needed.

Job Responsibilities Cont.

  • Utilize Rally (Agile central) for Test management activities like test case development, test execution, result documentation, and defect logging.
  • Write and execute queries against structured databases to verify the results or staging the test data
  • Perform backend system testing including but not limited to collecting and analyzing server logs
  • Serve as customer advocate throughout the development process including user acceptance
  • Effectively and efficiently manage competing priorities and utilize problem solving skills to resolve any identified real or potential issues and/or bottlenecks.
  • Create and maintain documentation for quality assurance procedures. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the team and the organization.

Education Required

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent education.

Experience Required

Minimum 4 - 6 years of experience in Quality Assurance with a solid understanding of software QA testing standards.  Must possess experience in Agile environment with understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).

Knowledge Required

Rally (Agile Central), SQL tools and technologies: MS-SQL, PostgreSQL, or Toad. Saucelabs, API testing using Postman, or Swagger for SOAP and RESTful services. Web browsers and Mobile devices testing. POS systems and Devices printing testing.  

Preferable but not required:  Understanding of Snowflake schema, cloud applications (AWS), Selenium and Java.

An understanding of how to approach the project with a customer service attitude. Self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision, strong written and oral communication skills, excellent organizational skills. QA related certification a plus. Financial systems experience a plus. Excellent written and verbal communications skills, Adaptability, and flexibility to changing environment. Ability to understand and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws governing our industry/business and products.  Ability to develop and maintain business relationships.
