Position Summary

Purpose Financial is looking for an analytically minded individual with keen business intuitions to answer high-impact product and business questions through intelligent use of data. As the Director of Texas Digital & Branch Operations Analytics at Purpose, you will work closely with Texas Leadership and other corporate Data Scientists to improve end-to-end user engagement, from application funnels to underwriting offers for our consumer lending products. The ideal candidate will possess an innate curiosity and a strong drive to continually refine and deliver the most advantageous loan options for our customers. Initially, this role demands direct involvement in analytical tasks, with a strategic focus on progressively developing and expanding a robust analytics team.

Job Responsibility

  1. Advanced Customer Behavior Analysis:
    • Utilize sophisticated data analytics techniques to gain deep insights into customer behavior and interactions with our lending products.
    • Lead efforts to translate complex data into actionable strategies that improve customer processes – loan execution, payments, retention refi’s, and overall high yield customer funnel activity.
  2. Collaboration and Execution:
    • Forge strong partnerships with Texas Leadership and the Data Scientist (Credit Risk) teams to drive the development of innovative predictive models.
    • Spearhead initiatives for the continuous growth of our Texas P&L, aligning with business Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
  3. Strategic Advisory and Trend Identification:
    • Function as a key strategic advisor to the Texas leadership team, leveraging data to solve complex problems, identifying market trends, and uncovering new opportunities.
    • Drive data-driven decision-making processes across the organization.
  4. A/B Testing and Analytical Leadership:
    • Oversee the design and administration of A/B tests across various channels for consumers in Texas.
    • Analyze test results meticulously, deriving meaningful insights to inform Texas business evolution and business strategy.
  5. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive reports, dashboards, and metrics to continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of Texas.
    • Ensure these tools are accessible and understandable to stakeholders across the organization.

Education Required

Bachelor’s degree in quantitative Field (Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or another comparable quantitative field) and/or Business/Finance (MBA preferred). 

Experience Required

Demonstrated track record of a minimum of 5 years in consumer lending (preferably within the non-prime sector), accompanied by a proven 3+ years of experience in leading functions and teams.

Knowledge Required

Written and verbal communications skills; adaptability and flexibility to a changing environment; and comfortable working in a dynamic, high volume, fast-paced environment. Ability to understand and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws governing our industry/business and products.

  • Fiananical services lending analytics experience is required; sub-prime preferred
  • 5 + years of analytics experience with people, leadership experience and interest in guiding and building an elite analytics team.
  • Proficiency with programming in SQL scripting for data mining/extraction is a must
  • Detailed understanding of building good technical solutions with the ability to work with leaders, engineers and data scientists into troubleshooting and solving problems.
  • Ability to break large projects into smaller pieces to meet deadlines and ability to convert ideas into testable hypotheses and/or next steps.
  • Effectively use analytics tools such as Tableau/Sigma to diagnose issues and suggest improvements to drive key business metrics.
  • Demonstrate business acumen and quantitative thought leadership. 
  • Strong sense of intellectual curiosity balanced with humility, drive, and teamwork.
  • Ability to operate at a speedy pace in research and implementation.
