Position Summary

The Learning & Development Specialist I. is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and facilitating organizational training sessions. They assist in the creation and delivery of new employee onboarding curriculum, skills training, product knowledge and operational learnings, as well as continuous professional development.  In this role, you will conduct training in-person and virtually in a one-on-one or group setting. This position requires an individual who excels in a fast-paced environment and one who adjusts quickly to change. Success will be measured by learning engagement and knowledge transfer and adoption.   

Job Responsibility


  • Partner with the Organizational leaders to address learning and development needs
  • Assist in determining and analyzing the company’s overall Training needs.
  • In the event of operational changes, provide additional support and guidance as needed to staff and leadership.


  • Recommend and influence changes to training procedures as needed to improve staff performance.
  • Encourage employees to embrace and be committed to the training and learning process.


  • Monitor and lead all employees to timely completion of all company and departmental required training.
  • Monitors and reports on the effectiveness of the training program.

  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate training programs
  • Assist in the design and development of Operational training programs.
  • Present training materials to various audiences as needed.


  • Participates in any special projects as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Learning and Development Management


Understand, adhere to, and enforce all corporate policies.

Education Required

Associate degree or equivalent experience

Experience Required

  • 2 years in financial service operations, 1-year leadership experience
  • Familiar with standards and concepts of consumer lending operations.

Knowledge Required

  • Phenomenal communication, presentation, and public speaking skills
  • Understanding of VARK, ADDIE, SAM, and/or similar training and learning theories
  • Highly proficient in time management, organization, and planning abilities
  • Critical thinking and decision making
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills as the ability to communicate in person, by phone, and through email is a must
  • Ability to interact professionally and exhibit appropriate social skills. 
  • Ability to understand and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws governing our industry/business and products. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain business relationships.
  • Knowledge of instructional design tools is a plus. 

Physical Requirements

Sitting for long periods; standing occasionally; walking; bending; squatting; kneeling; pushing/pulling; reaching; twisting; frequent lifting of less than 10 lbs., occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.; driving and having access during the workday to an insured and reliable transportation; typing; data entry; grasping; transferring items between hands and/or to another person or receptacle; use of office equipment to include computers; ability to travel to, be physically present at, and complete the physical requirements of the position at any assigned location.
